Well, it had been a while since I updated my
Build Class #2 webpage, and since then it has been completed, traveled the country, and lived a fairly active first few months
A friend of mine in VA (who was also a staff member at Maggie's Place) had a chance to play it has been wanting to have some pictures to show some of his friends. So, I present to you my "almost cell phone quality" photos taken on my Kodak Zi8 video camera:
The happy headstock (see the previous thread for a cleaner view)
The full view
I opted for the faux tortoise-shell binding versus the ivroid
The end graft ... same wood from my dad's guitar
Better view of the cedar top
The back of the headstock
Also, after bringing her home, I took a few videos (
compiled into one video here) to document how she sounded in her first few weeks. The videos with me in it was also a test for the audio quality coming into the Kodak Zi8 (MXL 603s, going into a cheap Yamaha mixer, and then into the camera). The other player is my old music partner (who since moved ... hopefully she won't be too mad that I put her in here). That was done with the straight microphone.
The 10 year Maggie's Place anniversary is this weekend and hopefully I can get the strap buttons dropped in before Sunday so I can play it. It's hard to believe that 10 years ago I couldn't play the guitar and I was writing most of my songs on the piano. Time flies!!!
