The project keeps coming up with annoying twists - literally! It’s needed a fourth bracket added and the shelf screwed to the brackets as well as the wall in order to achieve a state of LEVEL.
Still have one corner needs leveling but nearly there.
It does appear that the screws penetrate the shelf and enter the wall at a 45 degree angle, plus they are put thru a countersunk hole that seems to minimize stress on the point.(hope!!)
Here’s a progress shot. Over the sink on the lower shelf is a cutout where we will install a metal drain rack that I use when washing dishes. It used to be metal shelves with hanging drain rack (ala ikea) and I really like the over the sink drain feature/function. I am a little concerned about the potential for splitting the thin edges around the drain rack when the screws are attached.
Might consider an adhesive if I can find some thing that is meant for metal to wood bonding. Have a call in to my tech team.
Maybe tomorrow it will be finished. My end goal is nothing is on the counter, only on the shelves.
