Individual members of social insects species such as most ants and bees (among others) are specialists. Non-social insect species are more diverse falling along a spectrum of non-specialized (ex.cockroach) to specialized (ex.tarantula hawk). As such homo sapiens are like insects in possessing a diverse range of specialization.
