I liked the CEO tone too, even though I don't really fall squarely into either the Martin or Taylor camp in the tone department. It just sounded like it was good at many things, which is unto itself, a hard thing to find.
My next guitar will likely be a 00, but I suspect it will be an Eastman or Alvarez due to budget constraints.

I concur. The CEO 7 kinda' reminds me of what folks say about Larrivee and I had a similar experience playing it. It does many things well.
I suppose for some that would either not float their boat or wear thin after a time. As a for instance, if I were forced to choose between a CEO 7 and a D18, I would go D18. Simply put,it has a distinguishable voice and yet it too will cover a lot of ground.
YMMV.
I'm curious as to what you end up with between th Eastman and the Alvarez 00.
I would like to play an Alvarez myself for comparison.
