Your son has certainly taken on a stressful line of work, that only seems to predict more difficulty in the future. Getting through such an academy is a major life changing experience, with fierce competition, for a well salaried job. BTDT, & wish I'd have done it a lot younger... I was 40 at the time! UGH!

If one can deal with the danger & drama of crime fighting, it's a nice living, but it exacts a real price in return. I suspect nursing & firefighting are the same? A life of crisis takes it toll on anyone......

Being any kind of an LEO is the gateway into a well justified negative POV... I don't see any way it can be avoided?

I wish your boy, & you, a victory in this endeavor. I do hope that if he decides later on, that fighting the war on jaywalkers, etc, is a failing campaign, and that shoe clerking is his true calling in life, you'll be just as supportive? Best wishes!
