I agree. Try them. I've found they work well on some guitars.

I tried them on the GS, however, and found that it really pulls the sonic spectrum out of balance more than on other guitars where I've used them (x15's, GCs, Martins). The plain steels end up sounding thin and weak, but they don't with straight lights. Why? The only thing I can figure is that it's a matter of balance. I have come to prefer lights on the GS for several reasons. With the right strings (or at the right age of string) the guitar is much more versatile for my purposes with lights.

Thing is, that's my experience, and other people would not have that. Guitars (even the same model) are different. We all play differently. What we want to hear is different. So 'speriment!
