Can you leave the mixer attached to the speaker for set-it and forget it operation? I've found once I get my sound and levels dialed in, I don't need to touch them further. So I just don't need to mount a mixer on my mic stand.

Yes, as Jake said, there’s a built in connection between the box and the mixer. No cable required when it’s inserted in the box. I think this is a good replacement for the Bose S1 when you need an all-in-one and something maybe a smidge louder than the Bose.
