Lately I have been sealing the edge of the bridge footprint by masking off the finish and brushing shellac right against the cut edge of the finish. This really cuts down on the glue seeping in and swelling the grain around the bridge and leaves a much flatter finish around the bridge.

I set the neck a little high to take into account the warping and deflection that will occur over time. You can see the saddle is tallish.

The satin finish on the neck is very popular, I can't remember the last time someone requested gloss. This is the bird's beak joint in it's finished glory. It provides quite an accent to the slotted headstock.
