For other builders viewing this thread I have a tip to share. I have always looked for a small micro chisel to trim miters in purflings but was never able to find one so I made one out of an old flat needle file. I cut off a short section of broom handle and used it for a handle on this chisel and it works great. Besides, the steel in the file holds a great edge too.
As I view this picture it makes me scratch my head and wonder why I went to this length to miter a purfling that is UNDER the fret board... that no one will EVER SEE???
