One feature of Versailles which is interesting is the inclusion of Louis' brother as an openly gay leading character not averse to dressing up in drag coupled with the fact that he isn't presented as a 'colourful' sideshow-type figure; he's a serious and relatively positive character, and his orientation is depicted as nothing more than that: an orientation.
