Tim,

I have been using CEP since it appeared in the mid 90s and have followed each upgrade to the current CEP 2. IMHO CEP is a great software. I am not really sure what the others have to offer in regards to recording guitar.

The weak link is usually the soundcard and/or preamp used. I have had excellent luck with the Delta 1010. My preamp is currently the preamps on the Mackie 1402 and a Presonus MP-2.

I agree with LordOfLegerdem that the midi is a bit weak, but if you are not using midi and already have CEP2, then why spend the money on a new recording software. Just food for thought.
