We did get the back fixed. It actually looked a little worse in person than the pictures looked, but it was a great deal. There is a pretty well known repairman in NC, David Sheppard. We got him to do the work and it looks 100% better.
I would not automatically think that maple would be the ideal wood for a harp guitar but that one certainly sounds good.
