Monel or John Pearse nickel wound acoustics, to get the best of plugged in/and uno lugged tone.
Agreed on needing heavier strings, at least on the trebles.
Great guitars, and sound surprisingly good unplugged for such a small, laminate box. Enjoy it. I think I'll go play mine right now
