We recently had a couple of very accomplished fingerstyle players here in the studio and lab, and they both had Highlander pickups. I had never before heard the Highlander PU under controlled conditions, and my impression was that is was pretty good for an under saddle pickup.
We trained them both right up with a ToneDexter and a small diarphagm mic, and they both were fairly well floored with the improvement in tone and naturalness. Feedback immunity was good, as I would expect from a UST.
It's a good combo in my view.
