I had a Pomeroy A-2 for a few minutes about 5 years ago. It was a black beauty, great tone, great playability. Good mandolins. I only sent it back as the side position markers were incorrect, and the maker had no interest in fixing them, he was nice about it though, and I hold no hard feelings.
Pomeroys have managed to keep their value, and real mandolin players (which I'm not) seem to love the heck out of 'em.
