I can see what you mean, although it's not something I would have thought about with the posibility of snagging a 910 for that kind of money.
Are there any Dots on the side of the fretboard? Heck if there aren't take a small drill-bit and HAND-drill (no power please) dot-holes and stick some white nail polish in 'em!!! (and no -- I am not kidding!)
