I played a 97 514ce for years. cedar/hog .
Like stated above the cedar choked when driven
hard.
I have my eyes on a 712ce . You might want
to consider lutz spruce . A sitka/white spruce hybrid.
They compare it to a blend between red spruce
and sitka tone wise.. Red spruce (adirondack) Is preferred
By bluegrass players because it doesn't fold when driven
hard. This little 712ce 12 fret i played was exceptional
for its GC size . I think it would hold its own in a BG jam.
But it is slightly smaller than a GA.
