This is way too light for an acoustic. I ended up buying a .070 and using a 6 string set. My guitar came with a .068 and I had to widen the slot in the bridge pin for the 7th string, but I like the sound of the heavier string and plan to go even heavier. I bought D'Addario EXPPB070 coated strings. I hope the coated 7th will last long enough to keep it through my next string change for the other 6. |
Yeah I think you are right. I would want at least 0.70 on the 7th I think, in particular since it's a 27" scale. I tune the lowest string to Ab as well, which is all the more reason why heavier is better. As long as it works on my guitar that is....
