I've gone back and forth on mediums and lights. I prefer the lights, but after they've broken in a few weeks. Volume? I still have to watch it around other guitars and I can easily overpower my own voice. Sustain? I have no sustain problem. Mediums seem to sound better out of the gate, but lights also sound great... it just takes a tad longer after a string change.
