I've been noticing the same thing with PB's. At first, even when hand stretched and tuned, they just sounded yucky, but after two or three days, of light playing or no playing, they sounded nice.

I've been using 80/20's on my Taylors for years and they would sound great when new and then get dull the longer they were on.

PB's, to me, seems like they need a break in period before they actually sound well enough to enjoy.
