Default Re-routing a saddle slot in a wooden bridge

I have an older (80's) wooden bridge (that I love) that is routed for a rather thin/narrow saddle that I would like to remove from the guitar and have the saddle slot re-routed for a slightly wider saddle. Is this possible, or should/do I have to just get a new bridge with a wider saddle slot already cut?
