Honestly I love my 2012 D-18 but I also own a standard scalloped bracing HD-28 and it is a great guitar.
I liked the fact that you could have different tone flavour in the Martin guitar line.
I did not like the pre 2012 D-18 so I felt the fusion of D-18V and D-18 was an upgrade. I felt the same about the 000-18 in 2014...
I am not so sure about the HD-28 and HD-28V. I think we had two great guitars... and now we will have only one left. The Marquis and Aura F1+ Retros were also a great loss...
But I guess they should make what people want to buy.
