I tried them and still don't like the sound acoustically.
Right or wrong, my thought is that I can make almost any crappy acoustic guitar sound great with an amplifier. The trick is to have an acoustic guitar sound great as is.
For my ears & money, the Yamaha's & Taylor nylon don't sound too good when played unplugged.
