Default 1971 Martin D-35--Vintage Tone- $1600 shipped

1971 Martin D-35. Great Vintage sound. Very good condition. Sitka spruce top. Indian Rosewood back and sides, 3-piece back with marquetry between sections, ebony bridge, bound ebony fingerboard, dot inlays, volute on neck.

This guitar was refretted by Jack Dillen in Asheville, NC on April 12, 2012. It has comfortable, easy playability all the way up the neck. Great for fingerstyle, strumming, and flatpicking. In March of 2010, Jack Dillen reslotted the saddle to correct the intonation. The pickguard has been replaced and this guitar did not suffer the “pickguard crack” that many 70’s era Martins demonstrate. It also has a smaller, harder maple bridge plate rather than the bulky, oversized rosewood bridge plate which is attributed to a tonal lose in Martins made from the 70’s-80’s. The maple plate helps drive the top and maximizes top resonance. As such this guitar drives and is loud. It has the tone that makes Martin famous.

This is a great example of a 41 year old guitar. It has weathered well and is tonally mature. There is a repaired section of neck binding on the treble side between the nut and the first fret (see photo). It has an assortment of dings, finish scuffs, finish scratches, pick marks, and general wear that one could expect from an instrument this old. However, there are no wood cracks or structural issues to speak of.

Hardshell case included.

Excellent vintage tone at a great price. $1600 includes shipping. Add 3% for Paypal.

I have a lot of pics of it on the Steel Guitar Forum. Here's the link to my ad there: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=227122
