Well, I am not a luthier, but brought up this old thread because I found a really nice 2 inch thick, 7 foot long, by about 20 inch wide Black Walnut live edge slab today. I think it is gorgeous. It will become a sofa table when I am done if I don't screw it up before then. But of course the guitar player in me is looking to see if it is quarter sawn (which it is not) wondering how many guitar sets I could get out of it haha!
