LOL. Actually I do use soap, a couple cap fulls of Murphy's Oil Soap, mixed with water, in a spray bottle. While prep sanding before buffing begins, we use such fine grits of sand paper, the soap acts as a lubricant and carries away the ultra fine particles of finish. If you tried sanding dry, with these fine grits, the finish will clog up the sand paper in a couple of seconds.
