Yes, I have modified my technique to get the most from an acoustic archtop. I modify my grip on the neck, the tightness that I press the strings, and the attack of my pick.
But once I became aware of that, I've become a more sensitive player and I find myself modifying my technique on ALL guitars. IMO good players know how to get the most from a guitar, and spend a lot less time worrying about which guitar is "better."
