The Loar-signed L5's of the 20's were longitudinal (parallel) braced. I believe
all of the NY Epiphone archtop line was as well, as were most of the other acoustic archtops of the 20th century.
Some manufacturers used X-bracing on some models, but I've always preferred the sound of the parallel braced archtops.
