Anyway, due to the age corrosion might be possible and I will check for it. Direct comparison is also a good idea since "noisy" was not more than a first impression after attaching the guitar to the - also new - tube amp.

It could be an NOS guitar = New Old Stock. Corrosion could have occurred depending on the store's management of humidity over the years.
