In the late seventies I was in a Southern Rock cover band, and one song we did was "Green Grass and High Tides," which I was assigned to sing. I listened to that song a zillion times and could not make out what he was saying. So I wrote down what I thought I heard and went with that. It made absolutely no sense, but it was fine for our purposes.

Recently, through the magic of the internet, I finally tracked down the real lyrics. They made less sense than the nonsense I came up with.
