I think Tacoma does the best job of disputing the Taylor claim that the 300 series is the best value in solid wood guitars. Im pretty sure the DM9 and 10 are all solid, and they each sell for in the 500-700 dollar range, and they are really nice sounding guitars. I considered a DM9 for a little while, but it was just too plain for me. It has a cheesy print rosette type thing that is just not working...they would have been better off to put just a solid white ring like the 3 or 400 series.

They have a nice deep sound in the dreads, and for 500 dollars, I think the DM9 (aside from its looks) would be the best recommendation I could make.
