The only DAW I've ever used is Reaper. I'm definitely not an expert but I can do what I need to do as far as tracking, cutting and pasting and using plug-ins. I use Steven Slate Drums Platinum 4.0 for my drums usually using my own patterns by directly writing to MIDI or using the pads of an Akai LPD8.
