Now, "why" that happened is hard to say. Most likely the fingerboard was much "wetter" when glued down, then as it dried it shrunk. But it is exceedingly rare to see humidity cracks on the fretboard before the sounboard.


What wood is the fretboard made of?

Ebony. Yes I thought it awfully strange too since I keep it humidified.
