I've also started using regular liquid super glue in my K&K installs rather than the gel super glue they recommend. You have to be a bit more careful applying it to the pickup and then sticking it to the guitar, but it dries a bit faster and is less messy overall I've found.

Same here. I've used a medium viscosity CA glue for years, much better coupling to the bridgeplate; also, I sand the surface of the disc with 220 on a sanding plate, to make certain it's flat--surprises, here!--and to give the CA more "tooth", to grab. NTM a wipe of the bridgeplate w/accelerator.
