First of all, welcome to the group. We hope you enjoy your time here.

As to acoustics with wide necks, I've seen a couple of players take a standard 12 string guitar and remove the ''high'' strings, turning it into a wide necked 6 string instrument.

This can be a practical and moderately priced option. The necks on 12 strings are comparable to the neck on your Yamaha Classical guitar neck. Outside that you will be hard pressed to find anything that approximates it and increases the string spacing much over 1/16''.
