Tangentially related, I've always enjoyed the math behind MSRP calculations:
MSRP = (Actual price borne by the market) * 3 + $0.99
This allows for daily blowout sales "up to 99.9% off!!"
I can see your frustration. That does making searches for used guitars kind of a pain.
