Earlier in the year there was a long discussion about Humphrey amps. I have a friend near by that let me play his for an afternoon. From there I came to the conclusion that although many chase their tails endlessly over pickup choices the Humphrey was one of those ah-ha moments where I realized just how much an amp like this helps with live acoustic guitar sounds. Much, much more so than the difference between acoustic guitar pickups.
If it were me (and I know it's not) I'd do virtually everything in my power to mic that Humphrey as part of my "main" sound. Reducing it to being just a monitor seems like such a titanic waste. I'd want that glorious sound "out front" for sure
