Here you get a look at the lining that will support Paul's massive bevels. This one is the arm bevel on the lower bout of the top.
Early stages are truely homely. After gluing them on in the square (because they are so much easier to clamp in the square) i shape them the old school way with a knife.
After the knife work comes sand paper. There is something about guitars that calls for curves.
The maple sides were laminated with Spanish cedar. (That will be the only non-north American wood in the project. The decision to go local was made after the sides were laminated. Oh yes, that and the kerfed lining.
