Ok so I guess what is being said is that simply creates an ideal relationship. I'll have to check on some of my guitars because I've never designed string spacing in this manor, rather, I just make sure I have the outside space required so that the strings won't pull off. And actually most of the times I'm just using standards any way rather than a custom spacing design but I guess in the case of a custom design that may be a quick and easy rule of thumb to get the measurements done.
