I highly reccomend the early FG's. I own a 1978 FG 335, And have played assorted Red and Tan label Yamaha's. I had a Red label twelve string in my possesion for a few months.
I love how the sound has matured on the guitar, And the action sits wonderfully. The tuners hold tune better than people give them credit for.
