I didn't try the Maui 5, but can tell you with confidence the Maui 11 G2 has quite a bit of power. I love mine, get lots of compliments on my sound from discerning musicians and get told to turn down more often than I should (running at 50%)! ha ha. It will crank if you need it to. I used it to provide sound for a benefit recently where there were probably 200+ people. Absolutely no problem.
