install a K&K Pure Mini (pretty economical if you use the AGF's sponsers for a discount price) or go a few bucks cheaper on the JBB setup. I'd personally opt for the K&K since I've installed a half dozen of them and never been disappointed.
The upside is there are no electronics installed on your guitar, but you do need to route them to an external pre-amp for impedance matching. Almost any external pre or other device will get the job done for you. Don't get hung up about why, just do it. It will improve your amplified sound.
