Yes, it's a
JDK Comp-R22. JDK is a non-tube API offshoot. I rarely use it. I really only use compression on the way in if something I'm singing or playing has an exceptionally wide dynamic range. My new Hendy DaVinci has a comp built into the unit so that may become my go-to in those situations.
My Mac is an early 2008 8-core machine. It has maxed out RAM and SSD drives, so it handles things pretty well but I'm starting to get some popping issues which I think are firewire related. I'm hoping to hold out until Mac comes out with the new Mac Pro design in 2018 but I really do need a new computer. The problem with the trashcans for me is they have no PCIe slots for my UAD cards.
