Macasser is not a lower grade ebony...if anything, it addresses the chief complaint about Gabon and Madagascar ebonies - the high internal damping. I much prefer it to Madagascar for tonal reasons and avoidance of any contribution to the continued uncontrolled deforestation of that blighted island.
