None of the people I've seen (I might have missed some of the posts) listed in this thread have influenced my acoustic guitar playing. Most of those listed are singers who accompany themselves on guitar. I loved the songs of John Denver, but his playing did not influence me. My guitar playing...acoustic, electric, nylon string, has been influenced largely by Chet Atkins, Doyle Dykes, John Knowles and a couple others living or dead, and by the three wonderful teachers I've been fortunate to have in my life. To me it's not about playing acoustic guitar, but about playing guitar.
