You should be happy for him and support him any way you can. Go see his shows and carry friends with you when you do. Be an encouragement. This stuff is hard enough without any negativity, you don't need it and he sure doesn't either. Who knows, if he is "the guy" in your area and he drops a good word for you here and there maybe your standing will rise also. 48 years of doing this and I can tell you one thing; what you do and how you do it is important in this business, but who you know and how you treat them is more important in the long run.
