Thanks, Alistair may be able to do some color testing on scrap pieces soon. I emailed him today that if the heartwood doesn't take/look right with red transparent that maybe an edge burst around the inside of the cross perimeter may be the way to go. An edge burst would make those filigree pop like realfire airbrushing.
