They actually sound quite similar. But are totally different animals as far as size and form factor. The Casino can get some awesome feedback with its totally hollow body, if you like that. Casino probably wouldn’t be as suitable to live performances at high volume for that reason. Otherwise, great. Casino is much larger (about the size of an ES-335). SE Custom is quite compact.

Having a good number of humbucker equipped guitars and a good number of P90 equipped guitars, I much prefer the cleaner, more sparkly tones from the P90s, whereas humbuckers sound comparatively ‘muffled’. P90s have a full, rich tone, with sparkle. And they can crunch too.

P90s are fuller and richer than Fender single coil pickups; and they are cleaner and more sparkly than humbuckers. I guess you could say that the P90 brings the best of both worlds into one pickup. The only downside is more potential for hum, under certain circumstances, but where and how I play, that is not a factor at all.
