from what I've heard and read here are the perceived and practical differences:
FT- mellow tone
- $200 cheaper
- doesn't show fingerprints as easy
- A little more durable than a high gloss finish
- the rough texture might cause unwanted rubbing sounds
- not sure how abalone/shark inlays look on an FT finish
SG- brighter tone
- feels smoother when holding against body
- displays the graphite weave more
