Steve Fischer 12/15 12-Fret **GONE!**

Beautiful Steve Fischer 12/15 model in figured mahogany and Adirondack spruce. This is a very special full body 12-Fret design. He uses fan bracing in the lower bout. In his words:

"I use fan braces behind the bridge because this design works in better harmony with the physics of the guitar. The strings are trying to pull the bridge forward toward the nut. This causes a twisting action at the bridge, pulling up on the top behind the bridge and pushing down in front of the bridge. While the traditional X brace is ideal to counter act the force in front of the bridge the parallel tone bars don’t counter act the upward pull behind the bridge in the most efficient way. By using fan braces I can directly counteract the string pull and more effectively distribute the tension across the lower bout while making the braces much smaller and lighter. All of which combines to allow the top to vibrate in the most natural and efficient way producing rich dynamic tone."

Most 12 fret guitars are small body parlor guitars or dreadnaughts with the shoulders raised up to the 12th fret. The 12/15 is a true 12 fret guitar with a full 15" body. This means that the bridge is pushed back right to the center of the lower bout creating a full rich tone unique to its design. In some ways this guitar is my tribute to Torres and in it I have tried to embody the same qualities of his guitars that had such a major influence on my building; deep musical bass, crystalline trebles, dynamic presence
and volume in-congruent to it's smaller size The guitar has a professionally installed LR Baggs Lyric Pickup installed

Lower bout 15"
Shoulder 11"
Depth:3 1/2" - 4"
Length 19 3/4"
Scale 25.25"
String Spacing:
Nut:1 3/4"
Bridge: 2 1/4"

The neck is a very comfortable rounded "C" shape.

I measure it:
1st fret 0.87"
5th fret 0.883"
9th fret 0.894"

For those that don't know Steve Fischer, he built guitars for McPherson Guitars and was hired away by Paul Reed Smith to design their new line of acoustic guitars due to the phenomenal quality and sound of his handmade guitars. Among the PRS guitars that Steve designed are the Angelus and Tonare models.

Ships in original Ameritage Case

Cool axe!

Mighty nice and most intriguing...

Please tell us about the neck profile and depth.

A bit early to ask, but any trade interests?

As so many here I am guitar rich and cash poor...

Best on this sale

Paul

Trade offers are always welcome. Ideally I'd love to find a Ribbecke Halfling Archtop!!

Keith, another exquisite guitar. You've shown some very nice ones over the last couple of years. How did you run across this builder? Out of my budget at the moment, but only because I'm broke. A lot of guitar there for the money.

Thanks for the kind words! Over the last few years i have had the good fortune to have played a lot of fantasti guitars. Almost all of them have been the result of trades. This particular guitar is also the result of a trade, although I had to add some cash to make the trade work!!

There are a lot of wonderful builders out there and I never would have come across most of them without trading.

Hmmm...

Hey Keith, this is really nice! I’m going to have to think up some trade potential.

Hey AGFers, Keith is a straight shooter. He knows his guitars and is a good guy to deal with. We traded a couple guitars awhile back and we both came out with a great new guitar. GLWS

I just picked up a Steve Fischer guitar...I owned a McPherson for years, along with some high end Taylor’s...after playing a PRS Angelus and being blown away, I found that Steve had worked for McPherson and then helped PRS develop their line of Acoustics...I’ve played Bourgeois, Collings as well..Steve builds a beautiul guitar, and is second to none in my book....someone needs to buy this NOW!

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. This is really a first class instrument, hard to find a more talented luthier.
